Chapter 9
It nudges you once
When a card changes state, your phone can say so - once, in one line, with the value.

This part waits for the app. The server side is built; the app that receives the pushes is not in the stores yet.
A push goes out when a card changes state, never for every reading: the card's name and one line with the value, such as "went critical: 4".
Per card you choose how much: critical only (the default), low and critical, or everything, which adds stale, error, data back and target reached. Or nothing at all.
After a push the card is quiet for a while - 30 minutes by default, set per card. Going critical always goes through, quiet or not. An alarm held back by the quiet period is sent when it ends, if it is still the card's latest state.
"Back to normal" is sent only if the alarm before it actually went out. You are never told that something recovered when you never heard it was wrong, and never told the same state twice.
In the example month
An example, not real data.
- Day 22
- "Went low: 9". With the default level, critical only, nothing is pushed for low.
- Day 23
- "Went critical: 4". Pushed at once, quiet period or not.
- Day 24
- "Back to normal", pushed because the critical alarm went out.
That is the card's whole life: a number, its normal, a colour only when it moved, your lines and your target, a history of what changed, the reason you gave it, and one nudge when it mattered.
